Missed the semester abroad during your studies? No need to worry. There are also exchange programs for employees. Fachhochschule Dortmund offers its employees various opportunities to gain work experience abroad. The trips can be funded via Erasmus+. Lecturers and employees report on their experiences in several videos here.
The aim of the "Erasmus+ Staff Exchange" is to promote intercultural competence, a broader professional perspective and personal development. Programs such as job shadowing, job shadowing and lecturer mobility provide insights into the working structures at other universities. Stays generally last between two and seven days, but longer stays are also possible. Partner countries include EU countries and selected countries worldwide with which Fachhochschule Dortmund cooperates.
Prof. Dr. Reinhild Schultz-Fölsing and Anne Krainz from the Faculty of Architecture have already taken advantage of the "Staff Mobility" offer several times to visit partner universities. Especially when counseling students who are going abroad, it is nice to know the places and also the people at the partner universities, says Anne Krain. And Professor Schultz-Fölsing is also calling on students: Take advantage of the exchange program!
Johanna Munkelt is a librarian at Fachhochschule Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and took a look at the working methods of her colleagues in Amsterdam. In this video, she tells us what she took away from her short exchange.
The exchange programs serve as further training for employees, also in order to meet international standards in the support of students, visiting researchers and guest employees. The team from the International Office and Perspectives Management is on hand to provide counseling. The contact person in the International Office is Dagmar Hösch, while Maria Muck is responsible for this task in Perspectives Management.
