Offers for prospective students

In exciting interactive workshops of their choice, prospective students learn about the various and diverse subject areas of our computer science degree programs and can try them out for themselves, as our philosophy "completely practice-oriented" already says. The workshops are aimed at pupils from year 9 onwards and, in particular, prospective students. All offers are of course free of charge.

Exemplary schedule of a workshop day:

• 08:45 - Meeting in the foyer of the faculty
• 09:00 - Short welcome & information about the schedule
• 09:30 - Various workshops**
• 15:00 - Voluntary student counseling
• 16:00 - End

Pupils and other prospective students have the opportunity to attend a course to get a taste of studying computer science.

The Open Lab is open every Tuesday from 4.30 pm. Away from lectures, exams and final theses, we work and tinker on software and hardware projects in the field of computer engineering in a relaxed atmosphere. What do we do? Here are some examples:

• We make music with floppy disk drives,
• a rover that simulates a Mars probe and
• a robot spider.
• We repair old games consoles.
• We develop arcade machines and
• clocks with Nixie tube technology.
• We hold lectures for beginners and advanced students and much more.

So if students have a project idea that they've always wanted to realize, then you've come to the right place.

Students, staff, lecturers and, last but not least, pupils are all welcome in the Hardware Lab 1 (room C.E.31) of the Faculty of Computer Science.

The Faculty of Computer Science offers students the opportunity to gain an initial insight into the diverse world of computer science. These are usually internships lasting a maximum of three weeks and career exploration days.

During the internship, students have the opportunity to get to grips with topics such as app programming, designing circuit boards, taking their first steps with 3D printers or programming robots.

Previous knowledge is not required, but an interest in technology is desirable!
