Information
Fachhochschule Dortmund once again invites you to exciting open lectures in the field of robotics.Prof. Dr. Jörg Thiem, speaker of the robotics working group(Opens in a new tab) at the university and professor of computer vision and robotics, is organizing this event for the 8th time.
What role do robots play in medical technology? How can flying drones help to monitor critical infrastructures on earth? How do robotic vehicles and flying robots explore other celestial bodies such as Mars or the moon? What technical challenges need to be overcome to give robots the necessary sensory perception, for example?
The Robotics Forum explores these and other questions. In addition to a researcher from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, this time experts from the German Aerospace Center and the Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt in Austria have also been invited to give online presentations.
They will be joined by:
- Julian Klodmann - German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- Jan Steinbrener - University of Klagenfurt, Austria
- Roland Brockers - Jet Propulsion Laboratory / NASA (JPL)
The lectures (in German with English slides) are primarily aimed at researchers and students, but other technology enthusiasts, such as high school students, who would like to deepen their curiosity and exchange questions are also cordially invited!
The Robotics Forum will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 4 p.m. via Webex(online(Opens in a new tab) ).
