The guide is aimed at actors from local authorities and environmental and consumer advice institutions, environmental education and environmental associations that plan and implement consumer-related climate protection measures. The guide is intended to support these stakeholders in addressing, motivating and empowering low-income earners and people with a migration background to adopt environmentally and climate-friendly behavior in their everyday lives. The guide aims to raise awareness of the potential and special characteristics of these groups and to provide initial tips and assistance for the design, communication and implementation of measures that strengthen environmentally and climate-friendly behavior. The guide was developed as part of the project "IndUK - Individual environmental action and climate protection - integration of results and transdisciplinary utilization of findings from SÖF research on the social dimensions of climate protection and climate change". From April to December 2014, this project prepared the research results and empirical findings of the EMIGMA and KlimaAlltag projects, which were also funded by the BMBF, for practical application. The guidelines were developed in close cooperation with practitioners from local authorities, consumer advice centers, migrant organizations and social services that are already initiating and implementing environmental and climate protection measures.
