About the project

The aim of the project is to establish strategic cooperation partners at partner universities in China and Latin America for three central Bachelor's programs at Fachhochschule Dortmund:

  • At the partner universities, suitable Bachelor programs corresponding to the Bachelor programs of Fachhochschule Dortmund will be identified, developed or converted (as "Twin").
  • These study programs will be integrated into a study program system through an exchange and interaction concept, both through mobility and through virtual, digital formats.
  • Companies (preferably those at both locations) are intensively involved in the study programs in the sense of practical integration (FH model), e.g. through practical semesters, projects, workshops, lecturers and theses.
  • Where possible, the twin programs are given German accreditation and the option of a double degree for part of the cohort (with learning of the respective language or English).

The InduTwin project will initially focus on the topics of digitalization, Industry 4.0 and logistics, which are particularly relevant in Dortmund and in the partner countries. To this end, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts is building on the largest dual Bachelor's program in Software and Systems Engineering (Faculty of Computer Science), the Bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and the Bachelor's program in International Business (Faculty of Business Studies).

In consultation with the university and company partners, a comprehensive model project aims to internationalize Dortmund's Bachelor's education and promote the Fachhochschule Dortmund model in China and Latin America.
