Fachhochschule Dortmund has been awarded the title "Total E-Quality". At the award ceremony on October 19 in Dortmund, the certificate was presented for successful and sustainable commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
The "Total E-Quality" award is being presented for the 30th time by the association of the same name to companies and organizations from Business Studies, Science and Administration. Fachhochschule Dortmund applied for the title for the first time. "In our application, we explained how we put equal opportunities and diversity into practice at Fachhochschule Dortmund," explains Sonja Hunscha, Equal Opportunities Officer. She accepted the certificate together with Dr. Ramona Schröpf, Vice-Rector for Communication and Internationalization, and Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies.
In its statement, the jury praised Fachhochschule Dortmund's equal opportunities strategy, which "outstandingly fulfills" the standards in the various fields of action. Fachhochschule Dortmund received the award "due to its exemplary actions in terms of a gender and diversity-oriented organizational culture". In order to provide a compact overview of the university-wide measures, Sonja Hunscha worked together with many colleagues from several areas of the university.
Inclusion, educational equity and family friendliness
The jury noted that the UAS is also active in the areas of inclusion of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, educational equity and family friendliness. In favor of equal opportunities, the UAS also shows "a great deal of commitment in the region to address, attract and retain students from non-academic families in their living environment." A total of 57 award winners from all over Germany were honored in Dortmund.
