Profile
Extended Reality
Augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and all hybrid forms, collectively referred to as extended reality (XR), can be used in the digitization of a wide range of applications. They are particularly suitable for enabling users to quickly grasp complex interrelationships. In the Faculty of Information Technology at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, XR is being considered in particular for applications in the fields of biomedical engineering, digital technologies, intelligent mobility and robotics.
Student Extended Reality projects
As part of regular courses in our Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, students research the topic of Extended Reality and develop Extended Reality (XR) applications. Some projects can be found under the following links:
Project: Extended Reality (XR) in teaching (digi-Fellowship)
As extended reality is particularly suitable for teaching applications and courses, the XR toolbox was developed in the "Extended Reality (XR) in Teaching" project to support teaching on the topic of extended reality (XR) in the Faculty of Information Technology. The XR toolbox allows teaching to be experience-oriented.
