Senate Commissions

Senate committees prepare recommendations for meetings of the Senate and advise the Rectorate on matters within their remit.

Equal Opportunities Commission

Gender equality at universities means the promotion of gender equality. Disadvantages should be reduced and the compatibility of study, work and life should be improved. The provisions of the State Equal Opportunities Act (LGG) and the General Equal Treatment Act apply.

Commission for Teaching, Studies and Quality Assurance (K I)

The Commission (K I) deals with all issues relating to teaching, studies and quality assurance - such as accreditation, quality management, evaluation and digital teaching. It is chaired by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies.

K I also advises on the content of project applications based on the University's internal teaching funding (HiLF), which are intended to lead to innovations and impetus in teaching. In addition, it decides on the awarding of the teaching prize and approves the practical semesters for professors.

Commission for Research, Development and Transfer (K II)

The standing Senate Commission deals with questions and concerns from the area of responsibility of the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer (PII), Prof. Dr. Jörg Thiem(Opens in a new tab) .

As an advisory, strategically-minded body, it makes recommendations and proposes resolutions to the Rectorate(Opens in a new tab) . These include, for example, funding recommendations for internal university research applications or for the awarding of teaching discounts for research.

Commission for Resources (K III)

The Commission for Resources (K III) is responsible for the allocation of funds: it discusses how much money the individual areas and departments of the university of applied sciences should receive.

K III passes on its findings as recommendations to the Rectorate, which makes the final decision.

K III is chaired by the Chancellor.

Commission for Internationalization (K IV)

Election committee

The election committee organizes and conducts central committee elections, such as for the Senate(Opens in a new tab) , the faculty councils, the institute council of a central academic institution and the women's advisory board.
