Introductory event for joint degree programs in Business Informatics (part-time)

The orientation session for the joint Business Informatics degree programs is intended for students enrolled in the (part-time) joint Business Informatics degree programs offered in cooperation with the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (TH Köln).

If you are enrolled in the on-campus or full-time Business Informatics program, you will participate in the general orientation sessions offered by the Faculty of Computer Science and the Computer Science Student Council, which are not intended for students in the joint programs.

The orientation event consists of a warm-up/workshop session (separated by bachelor’s/master’s degree and by the university where students are enrolled) and a discussion with professors (for everyone together).

These will take place on the following dates:

• Bachelor’s (TH Köln): Saturday, September 12, 2026, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (warm-up/workshop & faculty discussion)
• Bachelor’s (Fachhochschule Dortmund): Saturday, September 12, 2026, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Faculty discussion & warm-up/workshop)
• Master’s (TH Köln): Tuesday, September 8, 2026, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (warm-up/workshop) & Saturday, September 12, 2026, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (discussion with professors)
• Master’s (Fachhochschule Dortmund): Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Warm-up/Workshop) & Saturday, September 12, 2026, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Faculty Discussion)

Warm-up/Workshop:

• Group assignments (Bachelor’s) and (digital) get-to-know-you session with fellow students
• Workshop on learning strategies for the part-time joint degree program, focusing on time and work management and effective learning methods

Faculty Q&A Session:

• Information on academic operations for the Winter Semester 2026/27 and the general structure of our joint degree program
• Information on the course modules and the ILIAS learning and communication platform
• Following the session: Opportunity to ask any remaining questions about the start of the program

The orientation session for the joint degree programs in Business Informatics (Bachelor’s and Master’s) is organized in collaboration with the Institute for Joint Degree Programs NRW (IfV NRW) and will take place online via the Zoom video conferencing software. You should receive the login details in an invitation from the Office for Student Affairs after enrollment (otherwise, please contact us; see below).
