At the age of nine, twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz from Magdeburg decided to become famous. At age twelve, they formed a band with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing, which went on to conquer the world under the name Tokio Hotel starting in 2005. In their early twenties, the twins fled to Los Angeles in a private jet, leaving behind thousands of enthusiastic fans and a life behind protective walls. The film delves into the band’s life and explores the price of success, the twins’ inseparable bond, love, sexuality, home, and music. Undeterred, the band continues to pursue the dream they began in childhood, and the Tokio Hotel pop fairy tale enters its next chapter.

“A documentary that does not exploit its prominent subject but instead shows interest and openness.” Spielfilm.de
“The result is a surprisingly serious film that doesn’t stop at a superficial glance at the supposedly glittering world of stardom. Not just for fans, but for all music lovers.” Hamburger Abendblatt
